bright & beautiful spring...TSTR #107

Happy Spring to you!

We got doused in snow this weekend. Can't wait for spring. Over at The Shabby Tea Room the theme is spring and there is a gorgeous inspiration picture again this week to play with. Fran is our shabby host and she asks that we create a card or project using LILAC, YELLOW, BLUE AND KRAFT and to INCLUDE A BUTTERFLY.

Our sponsor this week is JustRite Stampers and I chose to use the background stamp Chevron. Chevrons are SO in right now. I'm seeing them everywhere. I love their simple elegance.

I did two cards this week.. one using the Chevron stamp as a background and one as a focal point. Love love love the versatility!

Yummy. So easy to stamp a large area for background. It's soft and subtle.

And something you rarely see from me. A CAS card, using the chevron stamp as a focal point. Adds just the right amount of pop I was looking for!

That's it from me today but be sure to pop by the other Shabby Girls blogs and leave some love!

See you in the Tea Room! Our prize this week is super fab. You have the change to win Shabby Music, Harlequin Script & Vintage Map Collage Background Stamps from JustRite!!

oh boy...

Ok, ladies (and gents),

I have a confession. I'm *slightly* obsessed with cupcakes. Both the kind you eat(I love decorating them) and the paper kind. There's nothing easier than making a birthday card and sticking a cute glittery cupcake on top. Some of my first cards I ever made were of a single cupcake image. I'll have to try and find some pics...

So when Papertrey Ink came out with their shape up series-Cupcake I was over the moon.. that die paired with Melissa Philips sweet style is a match made in paperie heaven. I held off as long as I could - really, I did. But as usual I gave into temptation, with visions of Melissa's cupcake cards floating in my head, hoping to create something half as magical on my own.. and bought the die in my last PTI order.

Be warned. You will see these as much as you've seen my handmade cameos. To say I'm in love is an understatement. I tried my hand at an all boy version.. I tried to make it the least frilly and pretty as I could...but this girl has to add a bow or two..or a flower..a little lady bug button that was too cute to pass up...

A new found love of ric rak...used here as the icing on the cupcake..just peeking out. I need to find it in every colour imaginable.

So it's a little bit girly. A little fussy. But it's L-O-V-E... Melissa Frances goodies(flashcard as a flag) and papers...seam binding from 5dollarfrench market. Some old trim from my stash.. upcycling an old tag from an online order...a handmade mini doily.. its the first of many cupcake cards to come..
Stick with me, it's gonna be sweet :P
Night night my friends!

TSTR #106...Pennant Party!

Hey there!

Today marks my first DT post with the Shabby Girls over at The Shabby Tea Room! Feast your eyes on this pretty picture:

This week Debbie is our hostess and her challenge to us is to use the COLOURS FROM THE INSPIRATION PHOTO, and to INCLUDE A BANNER OR PENNANT(FLAG) Easy peasy!

Our generous sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps. I got to play with the Present image.  I printed the image twice on two different patterned papers then paper pieced it together to make it more 3D.

I played around with the size a bit before printing to make it the right size for my card. Since it's a celebration I just had to add some streamers too!

Voila. There she is in all her glory. Won't you join in on the fun and play along with us. You could win 7 free digi images from Bugaboo Stamps! Be sure to visit the other girls for some more great inspiration:

night owl...

Here I am again, keeping time with the stars... giving the night owls a run for their money. Outside there's a storm coming. The wind is whipping the trees around. I love a good storm, as long as everyone is safe at home. Can't wait for this snow to be over with and welcome the spring rains..the summer thunderstorms. That rain that falls so hard you can't hear yourself think.. watching the lightning race across the sky; feeling the thunder. Nature is amazing!

Thought I'd pop in with a gift set I made for one of my guy's co workers. I had so much fun making the cards and didn't stop when it came to the packaging.  My sewing machine co-operated for once and I was able to whip this up in no time.

A nice little burlap envelope stuffed with cards. A nice little gift...all are thank you cards. Here's a peek of what's inside:

Smile card in pinks...

Decorated glassine bags for mini cards..Handmade cameo's with lots of frilly layers. *sigh*

You know I had to include stamped cameos as well...

Heavy on the pictures tonight..hope you enjoyed. Time to go to sleep before the sun peeks out!
Night!

little girls...

Hi there!
Just popping in with a quick post tonight. I'm ready to start a long weekend with my guy. I love when he's around...get him all to myself for 4 long days. Such a treat. We are waiting around for the Northern Lights to start. Due to the solar flares over the last couple days they are expected to be extra spectacular tonight. I keep popping my head out and checking. Can't pass up an opportunity to see them-no matter how cold it may be.

'Scuse my finger in the picture.. the ribbon just didn't want to behave and stay out of my way!

A pretty pink ensemble, all dressed up for a little baby girl. One of the cards that I did up for the gift basket. No matter what age, every girl should have a little lace and pearls...teach them young I say. :)

Wanted to say a big Thank-You to everyone for your encouraging comments about my recent DT position news. It's something I've been wanting to do for awhile and I can't believe its finally happened! So thankful to Debbie at The Shabby Tea Room for seeing the potential and believing in me(and the other ladies too!) A big wave and a hello to some new followers! Welcome to the journey. So glad you are taking it with me.
I'm off to see Aurora!
Back soon!
