colour me pretty...TSTR #116

Hello Lovelies!

It's Monday and that means a new Shabby challenge at The Tea Room! Tammy is our hostess and asks that we create a project or card using:
COLOURS: WHITE or CREAM, PINK and BLUE
FLOWERS
A FABRIC ELEMENT

This week we are sponsored by JUSTRITE STAMPERS and got to play with the beautiful sets: Botanical Medallions and Banners and the Botanical Butterflies. I've used a bit from each set today.

The hydrangeas stamp caught my eye, it's one of my favourite flowers. Once again I used my trusty watercolour pencils to colour in the images. I used the masking technique to make huge bunches of them... they are always many beautiful blooms on the bushes...

My pink colour addition? Ribbon. Such an easy way to add the required colours!

My fabric element are these sweet bees! I stamped then with black ink onto muslin and cut them out. Love!

And there you have it.. beautiful blooms just behind the garden fence! I'm off to check out the rest of the Shabby Team to see what they created.

garden party...TSTR #115

Hello Monday. Hello brand new week. Hello new Shabby Challenge!

I'm your host this week over at The Shabby Tea Room and it's a garden party! All I ask for this challenge is that you create a card/project  and use:
                                      *COLOURS FROM THE INSPIRATION PICTURE
                                      *A DIMENSIONAL FLOWER.

This week we are lucky to be double sponsored by 2 fabby sponsors: Bugaboo Stamps and Digital Paper by Janet(Etsy). I used Skye's Pencil Pics: Orchid from Bugaboo and the Beautiful Day 2 papers by Janet.

I coloured in the image with water colour pencils then went over with a paintbrush.. love how it turned out. I used pop dots to give it a 3D effect. Waltzing Mouse and PTI stamps.. Prima and MME papers. Love how Janet's papers matched my colour scheme.

So now won't you pop over to the other Shabby Girls and check out their yummy projects:

two of a kind...

What a busy couple of weeks it has been! Had a special visitor for a week.. loved having my sister here.. we even got some crafting in:) Spring is slowly making an appearance; my garden is all weed free and dug up in anticipation of planting soon.. Summer will be here in no time!

A little catching up to do here on the blog.. a couple of cards to share.. still going birdy over here... It soon shall pass and I'll be onto some other obsession.. These two cards were for my guy's mom and aunt...my version of sympathy cards..two halves of a whole; reminding them that through their loss their bond as sisters remain..

Lately I've been obsessed with my new papers from MME and Prima...The Songbird collection is just gorgeous! The birdcage image is from The Graphics Fairy.. gosh. I could spend hours on that site..

I love looking at the two cards together:

Both cards have 2 birds on them...I love adding a little symbolism to each card I make.. whether or not the recipient (or recipients) 'get' them or not, at least I know they are there. My way of making them special..

These are some of my favourite cards to date(despite the occasion they were for). Here's the set of 4; just because I like looking at them while they were all together, before making their way into the world:

Well that's that.. I'll be back soon with another fabby challenge from TSTR on Monday.
Happy weekend!

beautifully shaped...TSTR #114

Hi there!

It's Monday again so you know what that means: It's time for another challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. This week Lenet is our host and she asks that we make a SHAPED card using the PHOTO AS INSPIRATION.

Our sponsor this week is The Stamping Boutique and I got to play with the Birthday Hot Air Balloon. It is such a sweet image. I decided to whip up a sweet little gift card envelope and card for a new arrival in our neck of the woods.

I used the pretty colours from the picture to colour in my image..Such great inspiration from the digi stamp I used it as a jumping off point for my shaped card!

Sweet ribbon flowers, inspiration from the beautiful photo..

Won't you join our shaped card challenge? You could win 3 digital images! I'm off to check out the rest of the Shabby Girls for more great inspiration:

pretty as a pitcher...TSTR #113

Happy Monday,

Fran is our host over at The Shabby Tea Room this week and she asks that our card/project use:
               -COLOURS FROM THE INSPIRATION PHOTO
               - A ROSE

Our sponsors this week is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and I chose the teapot image to work with, which just so happens to have roses on it :)

I printed the image on book print as inspiration from the photo and coloured its slightly with water colours...and made little ribbon roses...this is such a great image to work with!

It's short and sweet tonight..my sister is visiting for my birthday week and I'm off to soak in a little more family time.. I hope to you will join us over at TSTR and don't forget to pop by the Shabby Girls blogs for more great images from our shabby sponsor!
